Jewelry Care
Each Lorren Mae piece is made to be worn, loved, and lived in. Because we offer a variety of metals, care may vary slightly by style. You’ll always find the metal listed in each product description, and if you’re ever unsure, we’re just a message away, here.
Fine Jewelry - 14k Solid Gold
Our fine jewelry is crafted in solid 14k gold, made to last a lifetime and beyond. These pieces are naturally resistant to tarnish and safe for everyday wear. While solid gold is durable, we still recommend removing fine jewelry during heavy exercise or activities involving harsh chemicals. Clean occasionally with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth to restore its natural glow.
14K Gold Filled & Sterling Silver
These are wonderful everyday metals and can be worn daily. To keep them looking their best, we recommend removing your jewelry before swimming or exercising. Clean gently with a polishing cloth or jewelry cleaner as needed. Sterling silver should be stored in airtight packaging when not worn to help prevent tarnishing.
PVD Stainless Steel
Designed for durability and everyday ease. This metal holds up beautifully to daily wear, but removing it before showering or exercising will help preserve its finish long-term. Clean with mild soap and water. A great low-maintenance alternative to sterling silver or gold filled.
18k Gold & Silver Plated Brass
Plated pieces are best treated with a little extra care. Remove before showering, exercising, or sleeping to help maintain the plating. Clean gently using mild soap or a jewelry cleaner safe for plated jewelry. Avoid polishing cloths, as they can wear down the finish. We use a thick plating with a protective e-coating to help extend the life of these pieces.
Flat Back Earrings - Implant-Grade Titanium
Our flat back earrings are made with ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium, a premium material known for its strength, lightweight feel, and hypoallergenic properties. These earrings are safe for sensitive ears and ideal for 24/7 wear, including sleeping and showering. Clean with mild soap and water as needed and dry thoroughly.
A quick note:
Skin chemistry, humidity, and climate can affect how jewelry wears over time, especially plated pieces. Sterling silver may tarnish more quickly in certain conditions, but this is normal and easily cleaned.
For gentle cleaning across most metals, we recommend Wright’s Silver Cream or Tarn-X, available at most grocery stores.
